Call for Special Session Proposals

As part of the IEEE SmartGridComm 2015 technical programme, a limited number of high quality Special Sessions will offer insight into new or emerging topics of interest to the smart grid communications research community. Special Sessions will be intermixed with regular sessions during the conference and they will consist of 5 oral presentations.
The organizing committee welcomes special session proposals, which should contain the following information:
  • A topical title for the special session and the names of the organizers;
  • A description of why and how the session will be organized (200 words);
  • The symposium where the special session proposal is submitted to;
  • The titles, authors (plus affiliations), and short abstracts (100 words each) of 4 or 5 papers to be included in the special session;
  • Brief biographies of the session organizer(s) and their contact information;
  • Any other relevant information.
Special session proposals have to be submitted through EDAS ( under the track "SmartGridComm 2015 Special Session Proposals") providing indication of the symposium where the proposal best fits. A special session can cover cross-symposia topics. Every speaker of an accepted special session must submit a paper using EDAS. Papers submitted to an accepted special session still have to undergo the same standard review process as all other papers submitted to SmartGridComm 2015. If accepted, the papers will be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore ®. The paper format is identical to all other papers (see Instructions for authors). It is expected that at least one of the organizers of an accepted Special Session attends the conference. As such he/she will be required to register to the conference as well as at least one author of each accepted paper will be required to present the paper and to register to the conference.
